MAXUS traces its roots to 1896, when Leyland DAF Vehicles (LDV) was founded in Birmingham, England. For over a century, the brand built a reputation for engineering excellence in commercial vehicles across Europe.
In 2010, SAIC Motor Corporation — China's largest automotive manufacturer and a Fortune Global 500 company — acquired the brand and reborn it as MAXUS (meaning "the most powerful"). This fusion of trusted British engineering with SAIC's advanced manufacturing technology and R&D investment has created a new generation of vehicles that compete globally.
